What is Skimguard’s core protection technology?
Skimguard’s core defence is eField Technology—our proprietary, patented system that creates an active electronic security barrier. This barrier jams intrusive RFID scans to prevent skimmers from reading or copying the data on your cards and documents.
Do Skimguard products need batteries, charging, or apps?
No. All Skimguard products using eField technology (Global Protect Card, Travel Pod, A-Lock, Passport Sleeve) are 100% passive and battery-free. The protection is always-on, 24/7, without any maintenance or apps required.
What’s the difference between 13.56 MHz and 125 kHz protection?
This distinction is crucial for targeted security:
- 13.56 MHz (High Frequency): This is the frequency used by contactless credit/debit cards, ePassports, transit passes, and loyalty cards. This is protected by the Global Protect Card, Travel Pod, and Passport Sleeve.
- 125 kHz (Low Frequency): This is the frequency most commonly used by workplace, apartment, and gym access cards. This is protected by the A-Lock.
Do I need a Global Protect Card if I use a Passport Sleeve or Travel Pod?
No. Both the Passport Sleeve and the Travel Pod have RFID-blocking material built directly into their lining and structure. If you store your credit cards inside the designated skim-safe slots or inside the Travel Pod's main pocket, the protection is already in place. The Global Protect Card is only needed if you use a non-blocking wallet or are concerned about maximum shielding capacity.
Do Skimguard products block all signals?
No. Skimguard products are specifically designed to block unauthorised RFID scans. Your cards will still work normally at checkout—simply remove them from your wallet or sleeve to tap securely.
How long do Skimguard products last?
Our core eField products contain no batteries or moving parts and are engineered to last for years without replacement.
II. Traka Smart Tracking (Apple & Google Licensed)
What is Traka technology?
Traka technology combines Bluetooth smart tracking with Skimguard’s identity security. It allows you to track your essentials in real-time.
Does Traka work with both iPhone and Android?
Yes. All Traka devices (Travel Traka and Passport Traka) are officially licensed by both Apple and Google. They connect natively to Apple Find My (iOS) or Google Find My Device (Android).
Do I need to download a third-party app or pay a subscription?
No. Traka works exclusively with your phone's built-in tracking app. There are no third-party apps, no monthly fees, and no extra costs.
How far can I track my Traka?
- Nearby: Items use Bluetooth for locating with sound alerts.
- Out-of-Range: The Traka uses Apple or Google’s vast, encrypted global network of devices to help locate your item when it’s further away.

What’s the difference between the Global Protect Card and the Travel Pod?
Both use the same patented eField technology for 13.56 MHz protection:
- Global Protect Card: Provides full-wallet protection, shielding up to 15 cards at once.
- Travel Pod: A slim, minimalist design for smaller wallets, handbags, or light carry.
Which product is right for me?
- Everyday Wallet Protection: Global Protect Card.

Does the Key Guard block my car key fob signal?
Yes. The Key Guard pouch uses multi-layer shielding to block the radio frequency signals from your car fob and prevent relay theft.
Do Skimguard products work overseas?
Yes. RFID skimming is a global problem, and Skimguard protection works anywhere in the world.

What is the warranty on Skimguard products?
Skimguard provides clear, industry-standard warranty coverage:
- 5-Year Warranty: Covers all eField technology products (Global Protect Card, A-Lock).
- 2-year Warranty: Covers all Traka and smart technology products (Travel Traka, Passport Traka)
- 12-Month Warranty: Covers all other tech and physical products (Travel Pod, Passport Sleeve, Key Guard, Personal Alarm).
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept major credit/debit cards, PayPal, and Afterpay (allowing you to split your purchase into four instalments).
How quickly do you ship orders?
Orders placed before 12:00 pm AEST on business days are usually dispatched the same day. Metro delivery areas typically take 1–5 business days after dispatch.
